UNSPIRATION

Unspiration is an independent design studio based in Leith, Scotland. They run an eCommerce store selling a variety of hilarious, sarcastic and ironic gifts. They were famous for selling ‘nothing' and trending on social media in 2017.

ROLE

SEO Copywriter

BRIEF

Having worked with Unspiration before, they boldly returned looking for their favourite copywriter to write a sarcastic, funny and catchy SEO optimised blog. With new products to sell and a COVID-19 pandemic to survive, I set about writing what turned into the most fun I’ve had delivering a brief.

SOLUTION

Unspiration have a strict ‘no potty mouth’ rule, so I had to get creative with my insults. Optimising the blog using researched keywords and phrases, and appropriate backlinks and inbound links, I wrote an SEO friendly blog that highlighted various gifts from across the site, helping to draw more traffic to their site.

ROLE

Copywriter + UX

BRIEF

Approaching me via LinkedIn, Unspiration wanted a copywriter who could write catchy product descriptions and SEO optimised blogs. As a dry, witty and sardonic brand, injecting humour into the ToV was key — so I promised them I was funny and set about delivering their brief.

Optimising the blog using researched keyphrases and words, backlinks and inbound links, I wrote an SEO friendly blog that highlighted various gifts from across the site, helping to draw in more organic traffic.

For the product descriptions, I used appropriate keywords alongside witty copy for both the product ‘collections’ and individual best sellers.
